What We Do Title

Our Vision

Every child will have the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving and nurturing family with the supports needed to ensure an enduring relationship.

Our Mission

  • To ensure the development of family-based alternatives for children with disabilities residing in institutional settings or at risk of out-of-home placement, and
  • To ensure the availability of family supports needed so children have the opportunity to grow up in a loving, nurturing and enduring relationship within a family

Our Work

We are dedicated to making our vision a reality for children with disabilities.

Our current efforts are focused on the Family-Based Alternatives Project, where we are engaged in four interlocking activities:

  1. Collaborating with birth families to explore possible alternatives to residential care for children with disabilities
  2. Recruiting and preparing Support Families to provide a home for children who can't live with their birth families
  3. Linking together people, supports and community agencies as partners in making it possible for families and children to flourish
  4. Collaborating with state government and agencies to remove barriers and promote family life for children with disabilities.
