Children need families to love them, provide for their needs, keep them safe and guide their growth. Children need the love and sense of belonging uniquely offered by family life.
Some families have not been able to get critical supports or services to raise their children with disabilities. Their children may have significant and complex mental and/or physical disabilities or health conditions. Parents may need to provide care that is constant and complicated on top of the other responsibilities of family life. Unfortunately, sometimes these circumstances have led families to place their children in facilities.
